Bernie's Book Bank

January 26, 2017

Topic: Unassigned

We are very excited to “Do Good” with an event that Holmes Student Council is sponsoring. The student council has pledged to collect 1500 books for Bernie’s Book Bank, a non profit organization that collects books for underprivileged kids. If you have any old books for K-6th grade students, please send them to school with your son/daughter.  Teams are having a competition to see who can collect the most books, and if we reach the 1500 goal, there will be a surprise all school celebration! Holmes will be collecting books beginning at the school party this Friday (1/27) through February 14th.
Also, please mark your calendars for February 18th.  We are having an optional service opportunity to help sort the books at Bernie’s Book Bank warehouse.  This is an all ages event, so feel free to come with the whole family!  There are two slots, one from 12:00-2:00 and another from 2:30-4:30. Student council is providing treats for all the volunteers from 2:00-2:30.
There are limited slots available for the volunteer positions, so stay tuned for updates and permissions slips, which should be coming home next week!
